Richard's storyline part one

A day’s work and nothing seems to be upsetting Richard except the times back then. His life history while he was growing up would not be referred to as a pleasant one.

Meanwhile memories of his childhood nearly got him distracted to the point that he froze not focusing on his work. Later on his phone rang almost throwing him of balance, when he picked the phone the secretary notified him of his meeting with the board of directors, he was to analyze the budget and to display the process of funding the company these few months.

Richard was now hurrying up so that he would be able to meet the meeting, four hours later the whole board of directors came out with smiles, laughing and congratulating Richard on his level of progress with the company. Richard was the head of public relations and he was in charge of the company’s computer firm which also got involved with that of the ICT revolution industry.

Later on that following day Richard was driving and he stopped because of the traffic red light that flashed on him, not long while he was waiting in the traffic, a young boy came to his car begging for alms, the look on the young boy scared Richard reminding him of a particular moment when he too was by a car begging for money so that he can eat and feed his mother. He remembered vividly when his step mother didn’t cook anything simply because she had to travel to her hometown on some kind of business; his mother was not strong enough to take care of herself and her son. And for the father, he cared for nothing in the world except his bottle of gin which was under his arm almost every day which upset Richard each times he sees his father.

Nobody had any respect for the drunkard father. So Richard had to do something to help out his mother and he, Richard was now distracted by a horn that was informing him of the fact that the traffic light had been indicating green. He quickly gave the boy two hundred naira and drove off in haste. Driving on the express road Richard later thought to himself how lucky he was to have turned out this way. Because he remembered the moments he was fifteen years and his mother could not do much because she had been beaten by her drunken husband and due to that it rendered her useless.

At a young age Richard had to be responsible so he got a job as a sells boy and during such time he was studying so that he can get educated and be responsible for taking care of his mother which was his prior obligation.

On the couch he laid there staring at the ceiling and a call came through on his mobile phone and it displayed a name femi badoo . It was femi his close friend calling to let Richard know if he was interested in hanging out. Richard was up for it and dashed into the shower. It was a Friday so Richard wanted to get his grove on and have a nice time. Later that day femi came by with a female friend and she was introduced to Richard as femi’s girlfriend Richard was surprised because the way femi lived his life it was obvious that femi was not ready for any commitment at any point in time. But Richard just tagged alone. 

Later they were all at the club and there femi was looking handsome as ever, the young lady was not looking bad at all either. So they went to a reserved place to see what was going on in the club a few hours they both went to the dance floor. Richard was bored so he decided to head to the bar and get a drink. And there Richard stared at femi and his girl dancing. Richard was happy for femi, femi had everything and nothing seemed to bother him. Richard wished he could trade that of femi’s life with his.

Moments later a lady came by the bar and sat next to Richard, he was not even aware of anybody sitting next to him and suddenly Richard turned and what he saw he could not believe his eyes. He found out that he was sitting next to the girl that was supposed to be his wife. But she turned him down they dated for about three years.

What happened was that Richard was so much into this girl that on the day he was to propose he found out that she was seeing someone else. This in any case would have made any man boil in rage but Richard wanted to get answers at least he deserves an explanation for why she did what she did to him.
